Three R Surf
Camps-
Spend a few days catching
waves and enjoying the beach. Campers will receive instruction
on getting through the surf, reading, catching and riding waves,
as well as safety and surf etiquette. Besides spending lots of
time in the ocean we also visit area interests and take in a
few surf videos in the evenings. Campers stay at the Cape Pines
Motel in Buxton NC (near the Hatteras Lighthouse.)
Group Size: Trips involve 10 to 12 participants and 4
leaders.
Leaders: Our leaders are chosen for their maturity and
leadership abilities. Leaders stay in the motel rooms and provide
supervision 24 hours a day. Among the leaders are certified lifeguards
and competent surf instructors. Although fun is high on the priority
list, safety is at the top.
Schedule: Mornings start with a journal/devotion time
where campers spend some alone time looking at a few verses from
the Bible and answering some questions in the journal we provide.
Following breakfast we hit the ocean for instruction, surfing
and fun on the beach. Lunch and a brief rest gets us ready for
another session at the beach or a visit to area attractions.
Our evenings are occupied with games and surf videos. Each night
we gather together to reflect on the day and discover how the
thoughts from the morning devotion applied to our day.

Can I do it?
If you are age 14 to 17 and in average shape, you can. You dont
have to be an athlete to participate or to have fun. If you can
swim and enjoy the ocean you can do Surf Camp. You don't have
to have any experience surfing. We will provide a board and help
you each step of the way. Upon registration we will send you
some suggestions for preparing for the trip.
