Overview
In 1960 when Triple-R opened
its gates for the first time horses were an important part of
the Ranches activity plans. We meet adults today who still remember
the names of their favorite Triple-R horses from when they were
kids! Horseback riding is still important year round here. Triple-R's
riding program is supervised and taught by well trained, qualified
instructors who put safety as priority one. Learning horsemanship
in a safe manner is very important to us, a conviction you'll
see expressed in everything we do with horses at the Ranch.
Lessons
While taking lessons at Triple
R Ranch riders will work at their own individual pace, grow in
their riding skills and build upon these skills as they complete
each stage of our riding program. Always keeping safety in the
forefront, the first stage riders will work through is Foundations.
Then they will move on through the stages of Principles, Disciplines,
Performance and Refinement.
PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED - Long pants, a boot with a 1 heel,
and a SEI approved helmet is necessary for all students.
CANCELLATION POLICY - If you
are unable to atttend your regulary scheduled lesson, Triple-R
is not responsible to offer a make-up lesson. In case of inclement
weather one of the Triple R staff will call and let you know
if lessons are cancelled. We will offer up to two make-up lessons
due to weather.
WRANGLERS - Students who are
at least 15 years old and have 3R or equivalent Principles
stage experience can be Wranglers. Wranglers assist with feeding,
saddling, barn chores and trail rides.
WRANGLER IN TRAINING - A Wrangler
in Training is a volunteer position available to those who are
at least 14 years of age and have Principles stage
experience. Wranglers in training work along side our trained
staff and assist in grooming, tacking, barn chores and trail
rides.
NARHA
The Triple-R allows its facilities
to be used for the NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped)

to develop their skills through "therapeutic" riding.
Details on how you can become involved as a NARHA volunteer (at
Triple-R) or on how you or another can become a NARHA rider (at
